Paediatrics DEPARTMENT

The Pediatric & Neonatology department is headed by highly experienced and dedicated Dr. M.U.Hasan (M.D.). The team includes Dr. Monika Kar (M.D.) who is a capable and hardworking consultant in the department.

This department has been established with an aim to create a centre for complete child care where well-being, growth, development and every illness of newborns, infants, children and adolescents would be taken care of in a homely manner, Keeping pace with the advances in the medical field. We provide inpatient and outpatient services that focus on the acute management of illness, and the diagnosis and treatment of diseases through a comprehensive assessment. Patient and parent education is a key component to health and healing and is a cornerstone of our philosophy of care.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Sahara hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit is a 10 bed, Level III nursery specifically designed to care for critically ill neonates and assist with high-risk deliveries The NICU team has the capability to manage babies with more complex medical conditions. The unit has a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment and services including occupational therapy, dietary consults, respiratory therapist, and lactation consults, to produce the best possible outcomes for neonates. The NICU has the most advanced life-support and monitoring equipment available, for managing critical newborns.

The NICU Is equipped with the first of its kind vertical pendants for supply of gases and electricity. These help to maximize space and minimize infection.

Neonatal Transport Service

The NICU has the state-of-the-art Transport Incubator with a ventilator for transporting sick newborns.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

The 6 bed Pediatrics Intensive care unit is one of the best equipped and staffed units in the region. The unit is managed by experts in pediatric critical care who provide care to the sick children using the most advanced life support and monitoring equipment. Other team members who will help care the child include pulmonologists, gastroenterologist, otolaryngologists, respiratory therapists, cardiologist, pediatric surgeon, cardiovascular surgeon, plastic surgeon, orthopedic and neurosurgeons.
